Here is a list and description of 12 private campgrounds from which one can enjoy the Pioneer Valley area of western Mass.  Three Halls of Fame make their home in this region: Indian Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame (Springfield), Basketball Hall of Fame (Springfield), and the Volleyball Hall of Fame (Holyoke).  Nearby Mt. Tome has 1,800 acres of park land, with a cool water slide in summer, while in winter there are plenty of cross-country and downhill ski trails.  Riverside Park, New England's largest amusement park, is in Agawam.  The Eastern States Exposition in Springfield draws a million people to it annual September fair, and almost as many to the ACC Craft Fair in June.
